Health Care Assistant Certificate
If you are interested in applying to the Practical Nursing or Surgical Technology Diploma program, you must first complete required prerequisites. The Health Care Assistant Certificate offers you all the core courses needed to apply for either of these programs. Students applying to either of these programs will initially be placed into the Health Care Assistant Certificate program.
Practical Nursing Diploma
Students will initially be admitted into the Healthcare Assistant certificate of credit and must successfully complete the following courses with a cumulative average of 2.5 or higher in order to be considered for admission into the Practical Nursing program: ENGL 1010, MATH 1012, PSYC 1010, COMP 1000, ALHS 1060, and ALHS 1011.

Surgical Technology Diploma
Students will initially be admitted into the Health Care Science certificate of credit and must achieve a cumulative average of 2.5 in the General and Occupational core classes. To enter the diploma program, students must complete ALHS 1011, ALHS 1090, COMP 1000, ENGL 1010, PSYC 1010, MATH 1012 or MATH 1013.

In order to receive a certificate for the Health Care Assistant certificate, students must complete one of the Areas of Concentration.
Health Care Science Certificate
If you are interested in applying to the Clinical Laboratory Technology, Healthcare Management Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Surgical Technology degrees, you must first complete required prerequisites. The Health Care Science Certificate offers you all the core courses needed to apply for any of these programs. Students applying to any of these programs will initially be placed into the Health Care Science Certificate program.
Clinical Laboratory Technology
Students will initially be admitted into the Healthcare Science certificate of credit and must successfully complete the following courses with a cumulative average of 2.5 or higher in order to be considered for admission into the Clinical Laboratory program: MATH 1111, BIOL 2113, BIOL 2113L, BIOL 2114, BIOL 2114L, CHEM 1211, CHEM 1211L, CHEM 1212, and CHEM 1212L.

Healthcare Management Technology Degree
Students will be required to complete the Healthcare Science certificate program and the Healthcare Management Assistant concentration, with an overall GPA of 2.0, prior to entering the Healthcare Management Technology degree program.

Radiologic Technology Degree
Students will be required to complete 9 pre-requisite classes, with a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5, prior to consideration for competitive selection for the Radiologic Technology degree program.
