This class is designed to provide the Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Operator with the theory and practical knowledge required to successfully operate today's more sophisticated and demanding systems. The class consists of two sections, a 20 hour, classroom session followed by a 20 hour hands-on laboratory session.
Topics to be covered include:

Lanier Technical College is pleased to offer this unique course which is designed to provide a basic knowledge of ammonia refrigeration system components and system operation. This two day course provides the non-operator with an introduction to the theory and basic concepts of industrial ammonia refrigeration system operation. The training consists of both classroom and lab. Theory is introduced in the classroom and then reinforced in our state-of-the-art lab. In the lab students will identify components and review load calculation sheets and procedures that will help save on refrigeration costs. A demonstration of starting and operating a live, two-stage ammonia refrigeration system is also included in the course. This training is for companies with personnel who assist with system oversight but who do not operate system components.
The class is taught 8am to 5pm.
The cost is $495 per student.
Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Operator Refresher

This three day, 24 hour lab intensive class was developed at the request of our clients and is based on Operator I and Operator II materials. With a focus on system operating efficiency, this course will provide a hands-on review of refrigeration fundamentals as they apply to daily system operation and should serve as a solid foundation for the non-site specific portion of the OSHA/EPA required Operator Refresher Training.
The course is taught 8a - 5p.

This class is designed to provide the Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Operator with a more in-depth understanding of the theory and practical knowledge required to successfully operate today's more sophisticated and demanding systems. The class consists of two parts. Participants will spend approximately equal time in the classroom and in the hands-on lab.
Participants must show proof of completing an approved hands-on Level I prior to participating in Level II.

This 40-hour seminar is designed to provide the participant with background information and practical experience in maintaining an existing Process Safety Management / Risk Management Plan program. While the course is not intended as a tutorial on development of these programs, participants will attain a heightened awareness of regulatory requirements and compliance practices which should prove beneficial to anyone involved in creating or maintaining these programs. The areas listed will serve as a general outline of subject matter covered and all areas listed will be discussed, however participants will have input on the final content of the course and will have time for research into specific areas other than those listed.

Covers the application and use of a system of computer software applications developed for use by chemical emergency planners provided by the E.P.A. The components covered in this three day class are:
CAMEO (Computer Aided Management of Emergency Operations) is a chemical database and information module.
MARPLOT (Mapping Applications for Response and Planning of Local Operational Tasks) is a mapping application for use in plotting information on area maps.
ALOHA (Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres) is an air dispersion model that allows the user to estimate the characteristics of a chemical release.
Class objectives will include the utilization of these computer tools to aid in PSM/RMP compliance.
