	As Director of CIME’s Manufacturing Development Center, Carroll collaborates with private and public sector partners to help entrepreneurs start up new companies.

The MDC's mission is to provide direct assistance to:

Small companies... to accelerate the evolution of existing companies as they seek to move to the next stage of enterprise development.
Start up's... to increase the prospect of ultimate commercial success.

In either case, the MDC can provide direct, real assistance:

Unusual ability to increase office, warehouse, and production space in bite-sized increments (for example, if only 150 sq ft are needed then only 150 sq ft can be leased) from our 50,000+ sq ft facility at the Featherbone Center.
Access to experienced business professionals for assistance in finance, intellectual property, production, logistics, and more.
Direct access to Lanier Technical College's manufacturing training facilities and expertise for:

- limited production runs on LTC's automated production lines
- production facility design and production process layout
- operator and technician training

Reduced business operating costs through shared office resources at the center:

Office Equipment; copiers, printers, phone and fax services.
Favorable rental rates.
Knowledgeable help with government assistance programs and practical advise on involvement with such programs.
Reduced development time and costs through the use of the MDC's on-site rapid prototyping equipment.
