 DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY TRAINING - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
  Qualifications

Lanier Technical College is conducting a search for the following full-time, benefit eligible, salaried position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND five (5) years of experience in Economic Development areas
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience in training need analysis, identifying workforce skills gaps, curriculum development, instruction, and understanding of adult learners

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • More than five (5) years of experience in Economic Development areas
  • Work experience in marketing and delivering customized training solutions
  • Spanish proficiency


  Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university


  Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Evaluates, assigns, plans, and directs business and industry training activities to ensure maximum operational efficiency on a continuous basis according to established procedures
  • Manages the operation of the Ammonia Refrigeration program, to include service and maintenance of the lab equipment, and develop the annual class schedule
  • Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation
  • Supervises and supports Business and Industry and Ammonia Refrigeration full-time and part-time faculty to ensure effective job performance and ensure compliance with TCSG, LTC, and Department policies and procedures
  • Works with Chambers of Commerce in our service area to market the capabilities and services offered by College’s Business and Industry training
  • Coordinates with area businesses to target needs for training, then organizes and implements industry specific courses
  • Meets with individual businesses within the College’s service delivery area to identify workforce development needs and develops solutions to address the needs
  • Writes, delivers and/or presents training proposals to local business clients
  • Reviews and issues requests for supplies and materials, including all curriculum materials, as needed, for training courses
  • Manages and oversees financial/budget operation of the department
  • Conducts regular evaluation of business and industry training services provided in our service area, and makes adjustments as needed
  • Develops an annual marketing plan and devises the strategies for scheduling and executing marketing campaigns in a timely manner
  • Works with management and staff to determine strategic positioning and to eliminate duplication of processes
