Oakwood Wellness Fair

With the flu season upon us this is perfect timing for Lanier Technical College Annual Wellness Fair. Lanier Technical College is having their Wellness Fair in Oakwood on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Lecture Hall. There will be free giveaways and prizes for all that attend! You will be able to have your blood pressure checked, sugar tested, along with height, weight, and BMI. Vendors from all over the community will be present to give you information about their resources. Please come join us! Tax Tips Lunch & Learn - Oakwood

It is back again this year...the very popular Tax Tips Workshop! Learn about 1099 income and what it means. Can you claim earned income credit, child tax credit, and education credits on your tax return? Attend and find out! This workshop is on Wednesday, February 21st, at the Oakwood Campus. It will be held in Building 100 in Room 135 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Free lunch will be provided by SGA. Please email kregister@laniertech.edu if you are interested in attending so we can make sure we have enough food. Look forward to seeing you there!

SkillsUSA Resume Workshop & Meeting

Welcome current members, new members, and Lanier Technical College Students! SkillsUSA Resume Writing Workshop is Wednesday, February 14th, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Oakwood Campus Lecture Hall. This will consist of a short meeting then Malissa Lawrence, our Career Services Specialist, will be giving you tips about writing a one page resume. All SkillsUSA students will need a resume for competition. This workshop is also open to all students so please come by and learn valuable up-to-date tips. Free lunch will be provided. If interested in attending please email kregister@laniertech.edu so we can make sure there is enough food for everyone. See you next week!

SkillsUSA Week - 2/5/18 - 2/9/18

This is national SkillsUSA week. Lanier Technical College SkillsUSA will be having a recruiting day on Wednesday, February 7th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Oakwood Lobby of Building 100 & 200. Stop by and say hello and learn about SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA will also be running a community service fundraiser beginning on Tuesday, February 6th - February 28th. This event is called Fill-the-Crib. There will be a crib out in Building 200 of the Oakwood Campus where you can leave items for babies such as diapers, clothes, toys, etc. Please assist us in donating to the Gateway Shelter - Battered Women. If you want to donate from other campuses please give the items to our Student Affairs office and we will come by to pick them up. Thank you for always supporting Lanier Technical College and SkillsUSA.

SkillsUSA Meeting - Tuesday, 01/09/18

Happy New Year! Welcome current and new members! The SkillsUSA Meeting is Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Oakwood Campus in Room 126. SkillsUSA is a national organization that promotes leadership and teamwork. Meetings will consist of ideas and execution of community service and fundraising events. Members will learn about soft skills and employability skills. Members can just be part of the SkillsUSA Club and/or compete at the state and national level in their trade or area of expertise. All members are eligible for more than $600,000 scholarships annually at the local, state and national levels. As members, you have the opportunity to compete and travel. Come and learn more about all the opportunities afforded to you as a SkillsUSA member! If any questions email Kari Register at kregister@laniertech.edu.
