SkillsUSA Meeting - Oakwood

Welcome current and new members! The SkillsUSA Meeting is Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Oakwood Campus in Room 367. SkillsUSA is a national organization that promotes leadership and teamwork. Meetings will consist of ideas and execution of community service and fundraising events. Members will learn about soft skills and employability skills. Members can just be part of the SkillsUSA Club and/or compete at the state and national level in their trade or area of expertise. All members are eligible for more than $600,000 scholarships annually at the local, state and national levels. As members, you have the opportunity to compete and travel.

A Ghostly Gathering - Oakwood Campus

Bring your friends and family out for some Halloween Fun at our Oakwood Campus!

A Ghostly Gathering is Thursday, October 26th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We will have FREE hotdogs, inflatable games, a rock wall, AND Costume Contest for ALL ages! This event is open to the community so tell your friends and neighbors!

There will also be desserts, face painting, and light up toys available at a small fee, so bring some cash.

We look forward to seeing you all there!


Lanier Technical College Annual Resource Fair - Oakwood

It is that time of year again for our Annual Resource Fair! It will be on Wednesday, October 25th, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon in the Oakwood Campus Lecture Hall. Come learn about what resources are available to you in the community. We will have 25 to 30 vendors covering financial and medical insurance, shelters, food assistance, and everything in between. Free manicures and door prizes (every 15 minutes) will be given to those of you who attend. If you need more information please contact Kari Register at kregister@laniertech.edu See you there!

Our new officers will be inducted on this day and will be also hosting a class on basic CPR to save a person's life. Please come and enjoy lunch and learn a new skill. MVT Supports Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta

This 10-hour sportscar endurance race serves as the season finale for both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup. Factory and privateer teams alike from all four classes of competition will battle for the championship, as it all comes down to this final race of the season. Students of the Motorsports Vehicle Technology Program will be assisting various professional teams with racecar preparation and pitstop support during the race. In addition, the MVT department will have a tent with display along vendor village to draw interest in the school and programs available to future students.

We need officers for this upcoming year so if interested please come to this first meeting of the year. Officers will have the opportunity to travel to Georgia Fall Leadership and Washington Leadership Training Institute with all expenses paid by SGA. All members are eligible for more than $600,000 scholarships annually at the local, state and national levels. As members, you have the opportunity to compete and travel. Self-Defense Workshop - Oakwood

The Student Government Association will be hosting a Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, September 13th, at noon at our Oakwood Campus, Building 300, Lecture Hall. Dr. Todd Irvine will be leading this Lunch & Learn and will be talking about Self Defense (and actually doing some hands-on moves)! It is a great learning experience and a lot of fun. Bring your appetite because free lunch will be served to all students, faculty, and staff. If you plan on attending, please email kregister@laniertech.edu so we can make sure we have enough food. Diaper Day - Tuesday, September 12th

By popular demand we are bringing back Diaper Day at the Oakwood Campus. Free diapers will be given to students for their little ones on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in the Student Center from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. An AMERIGROUP representative will be present to answer questions about member benefits and services! There will be give-a-ways, games and more! Financial Aid/Foundation Lunch and Learn – Forsyth

Do you want to learn more about the Financial Aid process and what Scholarships are available to you? Then, you need to be at this lunch and learn on Thursday, September 7th, at 12:00 noon in Building A Room A144.
