| Because
a trained workforce is essential to the stability and growth
of the state's economy, the Georgia General Assembly feels that
every Georgia citizen should have the opportunity to obtain
the skills needed to succeed. In order to help Georgia citizens
finance their training, the state has established the Georgia
HOPE Grant Program.
The Georgia
HOPE Grant pays tuition and fees and provides a book allowance
for most students who are enrolled in diploma and certificate
programs at Lanier Technical College. The requirements for
the HOPE Grant are much less restrictive than those of the
HOPE Scholarship, which you might be more familiar with.
Every quarter, you will receive a book allowance of $50 to
$100, depending on the number of courses you are enrolled
in. You can fill out a Georgia HOPE Grant Application online

Can Qualify! |
To qualify
for the HOPE Grant, you just have to be a legal Georgia resident
for one year before registration. There are no income, age,
high school GPA, or high-school graduation date limitations.
The HOPE Grant will cover the majority of your tuition.

Grant Qualifications: |
- Legal
Georgia resident for more than one year
- At
least 16 years of age
- No
drug-related felony convictions
- No
outstanding student loans that are in arrears
- If
you are a male, you are required to sign up for selective
service when you are of age
