Lanier Technical College Foundation, Inc.

Lanier Technical College is a partner in the communities of Banks, Barrow, Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin, and North Fulton counties. The mission of the college is to enhance students’ educational opportunities, help create a competent and competitive workforce, and support economic development for the area. As part of its strategic planning process, the college has identified initiatives to help meet the demands of students, communities, and business partners in the future. Lanier Technical College plans to continue to offer a comprehensive range of programs and to respond to the area’s critical needs by emphasizing the following eight strategic initiatives: high-performance technology training, healthcare programs, public safety programs, industrial/technical training, business incubation, international outreach, and independent learning resources.

The Lanier Technical College Foundation wants to make sure the college is able to achieve its mission; therefore, the Foundation is considering ways to help the college implement its initiatives. As a first step, the Foundation is conducting a feasibility study to verify the community’s demand and support for each strategic initiative by seeking the perceptions, judgment, and advice of area leaders. Based on study results, the Foundation will seek the community’s help to implement and support high-demand initiatives ensuring that the college, the Lanier Technical College Board of Directors, and Foundation Board continue to be responsive to area workforce development needs.
