Radiologic Technology
The Radiology Technology program prepares competent Radiologic Technologists who will assist the radiologist in providing a high level of radiologic technology expertise to patients. Radiologic technologists, also called radiographers, use x-ray machines, computers, and other high tech equipment to create images of the internal structures of the body. During the course of the 24 month program, students will be exposed to a wide array of exams and clinical settings. During the last two months of the program students will observe advanced modality areas to include: MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine and more. The modality observations give the students insight should they choose to advance into these areas after graduation.

Occupational Outlook
Employment of radiologic technologists is expected to increase by about 15 percent from 2006 to 2016, faster than the average for all occupations. As the population grows and ages, there will be an increasing demand for diagnostic imaging. -U.S. Department of Labor

Clinical Sites
The program currently utilizes the Medical Center, the Gainesville Imaging Center and the Braselton Imaging Center of Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc.  The rotations are in 8 hour shifts ranging from 8AM to 10:30 PM, starting two days per week at the begining of the program then going to three and finally four days per week during the last two quarters of the program.
