The Lanier Technical College Dental Assisting Diploma program prepares students to become an integral part of the dental team.

The diploma program offers day classes at the Oakwood Campus. Students are accepted each fall and can complete the program in five quarters.

The dental assisting curriculum prepares students clinically in the following areas:

  • Procedures as they relate to general and specialty dentistry
  • Practice management
  • Chairside assisting
  • Dental-related environmental hazards
  • Oral health education
  • Management of dental and medical emergencies
  • Legal and ethical aspects of dentistry

Graduates of the program earn a Dental Radiology certificate, Expanded Duties certificates, and become certified dental assistants after passing the Dental Assisting National Board exam.

Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as Student Government Association membership, Student Government outings, on-campus picnics, the Hinman Dental Association conference and the Hall County Relay for Life.
