The Paramedic Technology/Emergency Medical Technician programs prepare students for employment in the exciting and rewarding Emergency Medical Service (EMS) field. The EMS Technology programs provide learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes.  EMT-Basic is the entry level progressing to the EMT-Intermediate and then the EMT-Paramedic level. Certicates, diplomas and degrees (AAS) can be earned along with eligibity for EMS certification exams offered through the National Registry of EMTs. The field of Prehospital Emergency Medical care is continuously growing and expanding in scope and depth. Our programs have set a very high standard of knowledge and practice for our graduates. The classroom and clinical experiences in the EMS programs at Lanier Technical College will assist you in achieving your goal of becoming an EMS provider. The State of Georgia Office of EMS has documented a shortage of EMS providers at all levels throughout the state and there is an increasing need every day for technicians. In the field of EMS, employment and professional growth opportunities are numerous. All of our graduates are strongly recruited for employment by various EMS services and primary care facilities.  We are very proud of our graduates, many have achieved positions in management and education, making them leaders in the EMS community. Lanier Tech's EMS programs use current technology and state of the art equipment to achieve our objective of graduating the most well prepared EMS providers. Through the use of evidence based theory and "hands on" clinical experiences we are able to accomplish this objective. Our students have maintained a 100% pass rate on their practical and written National certification exams.  We guarantee your success! We are constantly monitoring our graduates through our relationships with their employers to assure we are educating students at the appropriate level to function in todays high tech field of EMS.   Lanier Technical College offers the Associates of Applied Science in EMS.
