| Applicants
to Lanier Technical College who have been enrolled previously at a
postsecondary institution must meet all admission requirements of
transfer students. In addition, students who desire to transfer into
the first quarter of the Practical Nursing program sequence must adhere
to the Selective Admission process which requires the NLN Pre-entrance
examination and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. All other applicants
will be admitted on a space-availability basis within the appropriate
course sequence and must possess a minimum of a cumulative GPA or
2.0 in program-specific courses.
Transfer credit
in Allied Health and Practical Nursing courses are as follows:
- Any
equivalent AHS 101, AHS 103, AHS 104, AHS 109 courses taken
within 2 years of admission at an accredited college and
a minimum grade of "70" or "C".
- AHS
102 and courses prefixed NSG and NPT will be accepted if
taken within 6 months at another technical college and a
minimum grade of "70" or "C".

Practical
Nursing Change of Campus Policy
Students that were unsuccessful, withdrew, or were dropped from
the Practical Nursing program may request to change their campus
one time only. Written notification must be obtained from both (originating
and receiving campuses) Practical Nursing programs. Students must
complete the Change of Campus Notification Form and the Practical
Nursing Change of Campus Permission Form.
Admission to
the receiving campus Practical Nursing program may be granted on
a space-availability basis within the appropriate course sequence.
Students will not be allowed to register for courses during Returning
Student Registration and will only be allowed to register during
Open Registration.
