Lanier Technical College President Russell Vandiver

The mission of Lanier Technical College is to provide workforce development services in the communities that we serve in Northeast Georgia. This mission has never been more important than it is today. As our economy begins to recover and jobs again become available, those with experience with modern technology, equipment, and procedures will be the first hired. It is our goal to prepare students with the knowledge and skills that they need to be successful in the job market.

This year, the enrollment at Lanier Technical College has grown by over 32 percent, and the current enrollment in technical education programs is at an all-time high, shattering previous enrollment records. This enrollment explosion shows how much the need for technical education has increased in the last few years.

Adult Education, including GED and ESL training, is equally vital. Our Adult Education department has a strong presence in each of the seven counties that we serve, giving residents the opportunity to improve their lives and the lives of their families through education and career advancement.

Lanier Technical College's Economic Development services continue to be the premier in the state, offering Continuing Education, Customized Training and Quick Start Training support for local businesses including expansions and startups. The Manufacturing Innovation Center on the Oakwood Campus offers training and support for the manufacturing industry in Georgia using the latest in automated and advanced manufacturing technology. The nationally recognized Ammonia Refrigeration program provides safe and efficient operator training to students from 49 different states and six foreign countries. The Manufacturing Development Center, located in the Featherbone Communiversity in Gainesville, is a small business "incubator" that supports local entrepreneurship.

These various services, in their own way, contribute to the well-being and success of our graduates, as well as the economic stability and growth in the communities where they live.
