Drafting Technology Degree
The Drafting Technology program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in the drafting field. The program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in drafting. Graduates of the program receive an Drafting Associate of Applied Science degree. This program is offered by the Drafting (DDF) department.

Availibility
This program offers day and evening classes at the Oakwood and Forsyth Campuses.
Requirements
  • Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.

  • High school diploma or GED is required prior to admission.
    Official transcripts or GED scores must be submitted from all colleges and/or high schools attended for credit.

  • Take the ASSET placement test or submit SAT, ACT, CPE or COMPASS test scores.
    All tests must have been taken within five (5) years of application for admission.

    Advanced CAD Technician Certificate
    The Advanced CAD Technician certificate of credit program provides advanced level CAD skills to individuals interested in furthering their knowledge in the area of computer-aided drafting.     Basic AutoCAD Operator Certificate
    The Basic AutoCAD Operator certificate of credit program provides training to individuals in the drafting field who desire to become familiar with CAD (computer aided drafting), those who desire to learn newer AutoCAD versions, or those who desire to improve knowledge and effiency in CAD. Program graduates receive a Basic AutoCAD Operator certificate of credit. This program is offered by the Drafting (DDF) department.

    Availibility
    Students are accepted every quarter based on course and space availability. If taken at night, this program will take 3 quarters to finish. This will effect the cost of the program. This program offers day and evening classes at the Forsyth Campus.
    Requirements
  • Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.

  • High school diploma or GED is required prior to admission.
    Official transcripts or GED scores must be submitted from all colleges and/or high schools attended for credit.

  • Take the ASSET placement test or submit SAT, ACT, CPE or COMPASS test scores.

  • Additional Requirements
     A miminum of two years of employment experience in the drafting field and/or a minimum of an associate's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Engineering Technology and program advisor approval.

    The CAD Operator certificate of credit program provides intermediate level CAD skills to individuals interested in furthering their knowledge in the area of computer-aided drafting.     The Drafting Aide certificate of credit program provides beginning drafting and CAD skills to individuals interested in pursuing a career in the drafting and/or CAD fields. This program will provide the foundation for further education and training in Drafting/CAD study. Program graduates receive a Drafting Aide certificate of credit. This program is offered by the Drafting (DDF) department.
