Have you heard that WIA can help students with  a lot of  major college expenses? Whitney Williams, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Representative will be at the Oakwood Campus on May 29th in the Student Center of Bldg. 300 at 10:30 a.m.

   14th Annual Car Show and Motorsports TechnologyOpen House

Lanier Technical College would like to invite you and your family to a wonderful afternoon filled with cool cars, motorcycles, good tunes, free food, and exciting people. On Thursday June 6th from 4-7pm we will gather on the Lanier Tech Oakwood Campus at building 100 in front of the Motorsports Shop/Classroom. The Motorsports Department will open its doors for the whole community whether you are a racer, student, or just a curious car fan! We will demonstrate live engine dyno pulls and offer tours of our Motorsports facility, and even provide opportunities to sit in real race cars. Please plan on attending this fun-filled event to help us celebrate 14 years of meeting the needs of the racing industry, and meet racing industry professionals who can point you in the right direction to getting your motorsports career on track. If you have a cool car or motorcycle of your own please join us as there is no cost to display your vehicle, and we will offer door prizes to those who bring out their unique rides for everyone to enjoy! If you are an applicant for the EMT program at Lanier Technical College, or currently enrolled in the EMS Professional Diploma program, please plan on attending one of the pre-course meetings.  You must attend one of the meetings to be considered for the program.  The meeting will address program expectations and the cost and time schedules associated with the program.  For more information and necessary forms, please choose Academic Programs on this website and select Paramedicine.  Contact Sam Stone at sstone@laniertech.edu if you have any questions.

   Healthcare Assistant/Science
  Healthcare Assistant/Science
   If you are interested in applying to the Practical Nursing or Surgical Technology Diploma program, you must first complete required prerequisites. The Health Care Assistant Certificate offers you all the core courses needed to apply for either of these programs. Students applying to either of these programs will initially be placed into the Health Care Assistant Certificate program.

If you are interested in applying to the Clinical Laboratory Technology, Healthcare Management Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Surgical Technology degrees, you must first complete required prerequisites. The Health Care Science Certificate offers you all the core courses needed to apply for any of these programs. Students applying to any of these programs will initially be placed into the Health Care Science Certificate program.

Interiors
Interiors
The Interiors Program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in the interiors field. The Interiors Program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition,retention, and advancement. The knowledge and skills emphasized in this program include non-textile and textile use, materials usage; basic blueprint reading; codes, building systems; use of computers in drafting; communication with architects, contractors and clients; historical perspective of architecture; interior design fundamentals; selection and use of furniture and interior finishes; client presentations and business principles. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of interiors.
