The Welding and Joining Technology program at Lanier Technical College offers a stimulating atmosphere for those who enjoy learning by doing. This program offers the student an opportunity to develop welding and fabricating skills by using industry standard equipment, materials, and processes.
The Welding and Joining Program is offered at Lanier Technical College’s Dawson, Oakwood, and Winder-Barrow campus locations.
Ensuring that students have mastery of skills is the primary focus of the knowledgeable and highly skilled instructors. Along with developing welding competencies, students are challenged to become more critical thinkers and better problem solvers--the very attributes that employers value. - Shielded Metal Arc Welding in all positions
- Gas Metal Arc Welding in all positions

- Blueprint reading and Symbol Interpretation
- Fabrication techniques
- Preparation for industrial qualification
