The Master Craftsmen program was designed to work in conjunction with Governor Deal’s “Go Build Georgia: campaign and the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia’s (CEFGA) “Careers in Construction” program to spotlight those who have made a lasting impact on Northeast Georgia with their work.

Senator Butch Miller will moderate the event and will present the awards to the 2017 Master Craftsmen.

This year's Master Craftsmen Awards will be held on
Oct. 17, 2017 at 8:30 A.M. at the
Rotunda of the Lanier Technical College Business Incubator,
999 Chestnut St.,
Gainesville, GA 30501.

The Go Build Georgia campaign is designed to educate young people on the value of learning a trade, dispel their misconceptions about the skilled trade industry and inspire them to consider building a career as a skilled tradesman. Through programs like master Craftsmen, Go Build aims to provide better opportunities for craft tradesmen, more highly skilled employees for businesses and enhanced economic development for Georgia and the nation. The campaign is part of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development initiative and was created to improve the job training and marketability of Georgia’s workforce and drive future economic growth for the state.

CEFGA partners with construction companies, trade associations, the Technical College System of Georgia, and the Georgia Department of Education to support training programs and encourage students to pursue careers in construction. The Master Craftsmen Awards take place during the annual “Careers in Construction Week: which is the first week of November.
