Certificate Programs

Economic Development offers three credit programs. People successfully completing these programs earn fifteen (15) hours of technical college credit and are awarded a certificate of completion. Credits earned can be applied as elective credit toward a diploma or associate degree at a technical college. These certificate programs are HOPE Grant eligible for people who qualify. The three certificate programs are:

  • Certified Customer Service Specialist,
  • Certified Manufacturing Specialist, and the
  • Certified Warehouse and Distribution Specialist.

This program is 158 contact hours and presents skills that are critical to professional success at all levels. The Certified Customer Service Specialist or CCSS program consists of five classes:

Certified Manufacturing Specialist

The Certified Manufacturing Specialist or CMS program is 161 contact hours. This program consists of specific manufacturing and business skills. The CMS program consists of five classes:

AMF 158 Automated Manufacturing Skills

Certified Warehouse and Distribution Specialist

The Certified Warehouse and Distribution Specialist or CWDS program is designed to equip a person for a career in the warehousing and distribution area. This program is 152 contact hours and consists of five classes.

Computer Training Options

Lanier Tech offers one-day computer workshops in requested skill areas. These areas are continually evaluated and updated in response to workplace needs. Pricing options provide flexibility for organizations. Private and customized computer training is available.

Customized Training

Industry specific, or customized training, delivers the needed training when, where, and how it is wanted. Customized training varies from modification of an existing class to needs analysis and course development.

Customized training is offered to existing industries upon request. This service includes such activities as training consultation, training analysis, course development and course implementation. The training can take place in company facilities, Lanier Tech's Economic Development Center or other sites deemed appropriate for the training required. The costs of the courses vary according to the complexity of the training.

Customized training is available in the areas of supervisory and management development, human resources, security training, industrial safety, customer service, and technical skill areas. For additional information, please call 770-531-6340.

 

Health and Safety Training

First Aid and CPR training are offered. Instructor training and agency affiliation are available through our Community Training Center (CTC). Safety or health-related organization may affiliate. Maintenance Skills Assessment and Training

This assessment involves written and hands-on evaluations in mechanical and electrical skills. Over 80 assessed skill areas provide an individual analysis and skill summary. A training prescription is written for each individual assessed. Click here for detailed information.

 

Real Estate Training

Lanier Technical College (school code 3486) offers the Sales Pre-Licensing Real Estate course (code 40857) and the three-hour Professional Ethics course (code 40858) at our Forsyth County Campus in Cumming, Georgia. Click here for schedule and pricing information.

The Sales Pre-Licensing Real Estate course is offered online (code 40859) and in a CBT format (code 40857). Continuing Education Classes are available in CBT format.

The online Sales Pre-Licensing course is $395 (books are online) and the CBT Sales Pre-Licensing course is $375 (includes books).
