Open House at Lanier Technical College – Forsyth Campus
Joanne Tolleson, 5/3/2006
Lanier Technical College will hold an open house for individuals seeking information about its many certificate, diploma, or degree programs. Whether you’re fresh out of high school or are hardly able to remember high school, this information session will get you the information you need to make an informed decision about enrolling. Students, faculty, and staff will be giving tours of the facilities, so prospective students can see the state-of-the-art labs and classrooms used in the various programs. Advisors from all programs will be available, as will student services representatives, to answer your questions about admissions, registration, financial aid/HOPE, and career placement.
Georgia’s Technical Colleges are one of the best kept secrets around. Their close ties with local industry ensure that the training you receive is what will get your career going in the right direction. Tuition is very affordable, and most students qualify for the HOPE Grant, which is different from the HOPE Scholarship. The Grant, which covers tuition and pays $50 or $100 toward books, is available to most Georgia residents 16 or older regardless of income or academic record.
Come check out what’s new in any of our certificate, diploma and degree programs. You may study in the following areas: Accounting (QuickBooks and Peachtree Software), Business Office Technology (Microsoft Office 2003), Computer Information Systems – Networking Specialist (Microsoft & CISCO), Criminal Justice, Drafting (most current CAD), Early Childhood, EMT, Interior Design, Management, Marketing, Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing, and Printing & Graphics (most current Quark, Photoshop, In Design, & Illustrator). Classes are scheduled during the day, evening, and Saturday morning hours; additionally, on-line classes are available in some program areas.
Also, GED and English as a Second Language classes are provided on the Lanier Technical College Campus and are free of charge. Classes are provided during the day, evening, and Saturday morning hours. Please contact Elaine Glenn at 770.781.6987 or
