Lanier Technical College is offering Horticulture at its Forsyth Campus starting in April 2007. The College will offer a 6-quarter Associate Degree Environmental Horticulture program with specializations in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Floral Design, Golf Course Management, or Plant Production. Shorter (1- to 2-quarter) certificate programs will also be offered including: Floral Design, Landscape Design, Lawn Maintenance, Landscape Specialist, Turf Grass, Maintenance, Commercial Pesticide Applicator, and Garden Center Technician.
Lanier Technical College Horticulture programs will specialize in meeting the training needs of landscapers, lawn care companies, garden centers, nurseries, and florists. There is strong local demand for landscape managers, golf course superintendents, garden designers, greenhouse growers, nursery managers, garden center managers, pesticide applicators, and floral designers; there are also great opportunities to start your own "green" business. So, if you enjoy working outdoors with people and plants, consider a career in Georgia's $8.12 million horticulture industry - and get your start at the Forsyth Campus by March 1, 2007. Spring Quarter 2007 Registration is on March 22 and classes begin on April 9. For more information, call or email Gary Love at 770.781.6970 or glove@laniertech.edu.
