Start
Your Online Class
After you've registered, there are
3 steps to start your Online Class:
- Activate
your new Lanier Tech e-mail address
- Establish
contact with your instructor
- Login
to your ANGEL classroom online
It is YOUR responsibility
to complete these steps by the first day of class each
quarter, or you may be dropped from your online class.
1. Activate
your new Lanier Tech e-mail address:
Your new Lanier Tech email address will enable you
to keep in touch with your online instructor regarding
class work and assignment submissions.
- Click
here to Log into BannerWeb.
- Enter your Social Security Number without dashes
into the User ID: area (example: 1234567890)
- Enter your Date of Birth without dashes as month,
day, last two digits of year into the PIN:
area (example: 102785 for October 27, 1985)
Note: If you have used Banner Web before and have
changed your PIN, please enter your new PIN instead.
If you have forgotten this PIN, click the Forgotten
PIN? button and follow the instructions. If you
cannot access BannerWeb, contact Student Affairs at
770-531-6300.
- Click the Login button
- On the Main Menu screen click Personal Information
- On the Personal Information screen click View
E-mail Address(es)
- Under the heading Email Address Provided by College,
you will see an email address in the format UserName@student.laniertech.edu
. Your User Name is everything before the”@”
character. In the case of jdoe4@student.laniertech.edu,
the User Name would be “jdoe4”.
- Student email is accessed from http://student04.student.laniertech.edu
- Type the User Name you retrieved above in
the User Name field. Your default password is the
same as your Banner Web password, or your birthday
in the form mmddyy (See #4 above). Click the Login
button after filling in the fields. You have just
activated your new Lanier Tech email address!
2. Establish
contact with your instructor:
You must wait for a Welcome email
from your instructor for each online class you are taking.
If you have not received this email by the first day
of class, it is YOUR responsibility
to contact your instructor(s) via email or phone after
the first day of class.To get your instructor's email
address and phone number:
- Visit http://www.laniertech.edu/online/schedule.asp
- Locate the class you are enrolled by CRN number
(5-digit number listed on your registration print-out)
- Click on the instructor's email address to send
email or call the phone number listed
3. Login
to your ANGEL classroom online :
Your class will not be available for you to access until
the first day of class.
- Go
to the GVTC ANGEL site at http://gvtc.angellearning.com
- Enter
your username as 34_ (underscore) then your
9 digit student ID, all lowercase, into the
USERNAME area. (example: 34_910001234)
- Enter
the same information into the PASSWORD
area (example: 34_910001234)
- Click
on Log On button
- Click
your online class(es) in the Courses box at
the top left of your screen
