Alpha
Beta Club Derm
The purpose of the Alpha Beta
Derma Club is to further educate future Esthetician
students on state and national requirements for Estheticians.
Additionally, the club will enhance the knowledge of
students in order to prepare them for advancement in
the workforce and for future education endeavors as
well.
Goals
of the Alpha Beta Club Derm:
- To
develop professional and leadership skills

promote ethical and moral standards, and dignity
towards others

help provide opportunities for advancement in
the skincare industry

help educate students on skincare and address
the concerns and needs of the community

Club
meetings will be held quarterly at the Lanier Technical
Institute College campus.
Association
of Information Technology Professionals
The Lanier Tech AITP chapter is open to all students
who are enrolled in a program of study leading to entry
in the field of information processing. In addition
to holding regular meetings, the chapter sponsors computer
seminars and other activities related to computer technology.
Business
Club/Delta Epsilon Chi
Lanier Technical College’s Business Club and Delta
Epsilon Chi organizations are affiliated with the Distributive
Education Clubs of America collegiate division (Delta
Epsilon Chi). This affiliation provides students with
an opportunity to attend state and national conferences.
The purpose of these organizations is to plan projects
and activities to promote leadership development, civic
consciousness, vocational understanding, and social
awareness. Annual projects include a variety of fund-raisers
and promoting the free enterprise system.
Criminal
Justice Technology Club
The Delta Sigma Pi chapter of the American Criminal
Justice Association is dedicated to the furtherance
of professional standards of criminal justice and the
promotion of greater public understanding of the problems
and objectives of those agencies devoted to the administration
of criminal justice. This is accomplished by providing
students with first hand knowledge of criminal justice
agencies in the region, as well as establishing service
opportunities to local social welfare agencies (victim
services, child advocates, domestic violence shelters,
etc.). Membership is open to any student dedicated to
understanding more about our Criminal Justice system,
as well as honorary memberships to local criminal justice
executives.
GOAL
Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership is a statewide
program co-sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce
and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) to
select the outstanding technical student of the year.
Student eligibility requirements are established by
the (TCSG). Each spring Lanier Tech selects one student
as its representative to compete in the statewide program.
HEROES
Group
The HEROES Group is open to all special populations students
(divorced, separated, single parent, limited English proficiency,
economically disadvantaged). A free lunch is provided
by Student Government Association for those who sign up
in advance of the meetings. Speakers discuss topics such
as tax tips for single parents, wellness and nutrition,
customer service, business etiquette, dress for success,
interview skills, etc.
The Special Populations Coordinator coordinates the Heroes
Group meetings and is also available to assist students
with counseling and referral to community and college
resources.
Linux Club
The Linux Users Group Student Club provides students with
the opportunity to get hands on experience with the computer
technology using GNU Linux Computing and Open Source Software.
The group will also provide the students with the necessary
knowledge to aid the local community. The members of the
Linux Users Group Student Club will gain much needed experience
and professional/interpersonal networking contacts, increasing
their chances of success in the IT job market.
National
Adult Education Honor Society
The mission of this organization is providing meaningful
recognition to deserving adult education students, to
improve student employment opportunities, and to develop
student ambassadors for the local adult education program.
National
Technical Honor Society
The National Vocational-Technical Honor Society is an
honor organization for outstanding students enrolled
in technical programs. The purpose of the organization
is to encourage academic excellence, skill development,
honesty, service, leadership, citizenship, and individual
responsibility.
To qualify for membership in Lanier Tech's chapter
of the National Vocational-Technical Honor Society,
a student may be enrolled full-time or part-time and
must be regularly admitted to and currently enrolled
in a degree or diploma program, have completed at least
45 credit hours, have an overall GPA of at least 3.7,
and be recommended by his/her advisor.
Phi
Beta Lambda
Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization for adults
in post secondary enrollment in Business Education.
Members learn how to engage in industry and group enterprise;
how to hold office and direct the affairs of a group;
how to work with other representatives; and how to compete
on local, state, and national levels.
PLANET
Student Chapter
The Lanier Tech PLANET Student Chapter is part of the
Professional Landscape Network (PLANET), an organization
representing landscape designers, landscape companies,
and landscape suppliers from across the country. The Lanier
Tech PLANET Student Chapter is open to all Lanier Tech
Environmental Horticulture students. Every year, Lanier
Tech Horticulture students attend and compete in an event
known as 'Student Career Days', a competition among over
60 schools featuring 25 landscape related events, e.g.
landscape design, business management, woody and perennial
ID, equipment operation, etc. Student Career Days also
features a career fair for students to meet and interview
with over 70 national employers. There are also opportunities
for members to participate in field trips and national
conferences.
The
Lanier Tech PLANET student chapter gives back to the
community by aiding non-profit organizations with their
landscaping projects.
Radiologic
Technology Club - Rho Alpha Delta
The radiologic technology club is
open to any student accepted into the program. The intention
of the club is to motivate students while providing social,
professional and scholastic support. The club is also
involved in raising funds in order to attend professional
radiologic technology conferences and other events that
will expand the student's knowledge of the field.
Skills
USA/VICA
Formerly known as Vocational Industrial Clubs of America
(VICA), Skills USA is a club for trade, industrial,
technical, and health occupation students. Skills USA
offers leadership, citizenship, and character development
progress to complement skill training. Skills USA brings
together people who share common interests and exchange
ideas. Members may earn recognition through school,
state, and national awards and contests.
The
Scrub Club
The Surgical Technology Club is open to students in
the Surgical Technology program. The club provides an
avenue for members to meet to discuss issues related
to their field and to interact with surgical professionals
and guest speakers.
The Student Dental Hygienist
Association
The Student Dental Hygienist Association (SADHA) is
open to students enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program.
Members of SADHA meet to discuss the unique demands
and experiences student dental hygienists encounter
on the road to graduating and obtaining licensure. The
goal of SADHA is to empower, support, and develop student
members, by offering opportunities for personal and
professional development, leadership, and recognition
of achievements.
