 PARAMEDICINE - EMS DIRECTOR/INSTRUCTOR
  Qualifications

Lanier Technical College is conducting a search for the following full-time, benefit eligible, salaried position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in health related or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Field experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care
  • Current licensure as a Nationally Registered Paramedic and state of Georgia Paramedic (or ability to obtain reciprocity to obtain state license)
  • Current Level III EMS instructor license
  • Three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience in a contingency medical field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Paramedic Technology or health related field from a regionally accredited college or university
  • One year (or more) of teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
  • Additional instructor certifications including, but not limited to: AMLS, ASLS, GEMS, and Pediatric ITLS
  • Experience with CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation policies and procedures as related to maintaining records and preparing reports for maintenance of program accreditation
  • Ability to utilize high fidelity simulation manikins
  • More than Three (3) years of experience in teaching, curriculum and lesson plan development, lecture preparation, test development and result analysis in traditional classroom settings
  • Experience working as a clinical instructor and maintaining and working with clinical contracts
  • Spanish proficiency


  Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health related or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university

  • Current Level III EMS instructor license


  Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Assures that all programmatic (CoAEMSP) accreditation standards are met, including the production and timely submission of all required materials
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and handle administrative responsibilities related to program management including student advisement, advisory committee meetings, and program development
  • Assists with development of clinical course requirements, evaluation of clinical sites and students’ clinical performance
  • Is involved in hospital clinical rotations with the students, assists with all paperwork necessary to maintain clinical contracts
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests
  • Responsible for management of adjunct faculty
  • Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences as needed for all professional licensures as well as any additional requirements as set forth by the college
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs, progress and other issues
  • Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by Dean
