 FACILITIES COORDINATOR
  Qualifications

Lanier Technical College is conducting a search for the following full-time, benefit eligible, salaried position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary certification(s) in HVAC, building maintenance technology, commercial electrical technology, and/or plumbing
  • Three (3) years of building maintenance work experience in a commercial, industrial, healthcare, or educational setting
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and practices and procedures of building and grounds maintenance
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic and HVAC system maintenance and repair
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction plans, specifications and blueprints
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk throughout campus, stoop, bend, crouch, climb ladders, and use tools and equipment that require dexterity
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Post-secondary diploma or higher in HVAC, building maintenance technology, commercial electrical technology, and/or plumbing
  • More than three (3) years of building maintenance work experience in a commercial, industrial, healthcare, or educational setting
  • Endorsement as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills is a plus

  • A Post-secondary diploma or higher in HVAC, building maintenance technology, commercial electrical technology, and/or plumbing


  Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Install, maintain, and/or repair electrical systems and associated hardware
  • Assist in the set-up of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems, and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Hands-on maintenance and installation of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure functionality
  • Develops and effectively communicates work schedules and assignments to staff
  • Monitors and inspects staff work to ensure duties are properly completed
  • Assist with management of facility work order system (Building Engines)s
  • Ensures that staff obtains the proper supplies needed for each task and returns unused supplies to the appropriate storage area
  • Inspects and maintains fire alarms, sprinkler, and security systems
  • Organizes the departments and allocates work in a way that facilitates the achievement of objectives
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field, and applies pertinent new knowledge to performance of responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Facilities and Maintenance
