HOPE Career Grant, formerly known as the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant

Georgia has identified a need for employees in several fields with immediate openings—students can choose to enroll in any of these 30 Diploma and Certificate programs at Lanier Technical College, where they may be eligible for FREE TUITION*!

The HOPE Career Grant can be the boost a student needs to get started in a rewarding, well-paying career, without accumulating a lot of student debt. It also helps Georgia employers by creating a pipeline of skilled workers they can hire well into the future.

To be eligible for the HOPE Career Grant or ZELL Grant, students must first qualify for and be currently receiving the HOPE Grant. The two grants together will cover all tuition* in these programs of study. Students will still be responsible for student fees, books, and any equipment necessary.

Important details to know about the HOPE Career Grant:
  • HOPE awards are based on the student’s program of study and the number of hours of enrollment.
  • The grant is available only for eligible students who are pursuing certificates and diplomas and are already receiving the HOPE Grant.
  • High school students participating in Move On When Ready are not eligible for the HOPE Career award until after they graduate from high school.
*Students receiving both the HOPE Career Grant and HOPE/ZELL Grant will receive 100% free tuition; however students will still be responsible for any fees, books, or required equipment for their program.

There are MANY programs that are covered by the HOPE Career Grant. Please take a few minutes to see if the program you are interested in is covered by the grant, at the GAFutures website page.
