All proposals for new academic programs must follow the procedure outlined below:

  1. Academic Dean and/or Program Chair or Director coordinates with Director of Curriculum and Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) to develop a New Program Request (NPR) for the proposed program
  2. Director of Curriculum uploads draft NPR to the Technical College System of Georgia's Knowledge Management System (KMS)
  3. Director of Curriculum adds NPR for the proposed program to the agenda for the upcoming Curriculum Committee meeting
  4. Curriculum Committee votes on approval of the proposed program
  5. VPAA presents proposed program to the LTC Leadership Team for a vote of approval
  6. Director of Curriculum notifies President that the NPR is ready for submission to the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia (SBTCSG)
  7. SBTCSG votes on approval of the proposed program and informs President of the outcome of the vote
  8. Institutional Effectiveness office prepares a letter of notification or prospectus as appropriate for President to submit to the Southern Association of Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
  9. Upon notification of approval by SACSCOC, the President's Office informs the Director of Curriculum, who then informs all internal stakeholders of the approval
