Laboratory Assistant, Welding Technology-Dawson Campus

Job Description:

Lanier Technical College is accepting applications for a Welding Laboratory Assistant on the Dawson County Campus.  The responsibility of this position is to maintain the WELD labs and assist students as needed. Additional responsibilities may include performing general maintenance, housekeeping, and limited office tasks along with other duties as directed by the WELD staff.  The position is part time, for 15-20 hours per week scheduled during normal operating hours of the campus.  The actual weekly schedule is flexible and will be determined by the manager.

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid on file for the current aid year (2023-2024).
  • Must be registered for the current term at Lanier Technical College and must meet satisfactory academic progress standards.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Experience working in a shop environment.
  • Applicants should be neat in appearance and possess the ability to work well with others.
  • Applicants must be dependable, punctual, and be able to work the required hours each week.
  • As with all LTC employees, a background check is required which may include, but is not limited to, a review and/or verification of criminal history records, motor/vehicle driver’s history records, employment history, references, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to repair and install equipment
  • Ability to install and update software
  • Ability to setup and configure trainers
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds

 

Salary:

20 hours per week at $15.00 per hour.
