Improve your reading, writing, speaking, and listening for FREE with Lanier Technical College. We can help you understand and communicate in the English language. Learn to use computers, practice skills for getting a better job, and participate in quick training programs. Do you want to become a U.S. Citizen? We can help. Already have high-level English language skills? Ask about our Bridge program to improve your academic English to prepare for post-secondary education. Interested in High School Equivalency classes?

Get your High School Equivalency diploma (such as the GED® or HiSET®). Each of the seven counties that serve Lanier Technical College has locations to help adult learners to become successful and confident in the workplace and society. These classes are free! High School Equivalency instruction includes basic literacy, reading, writing, social studies, science, and math – all of the items that are tested on the GED® and HiSET® exams. You will also receive instruction in soft skills, digital literacy, and financial literacy. Take advantage of opportunities to participate in short-term training programs that lead to national certifications while studying with us. Please refer to FAQ’s – HSE for further information.

  1. Find a center close to you.  We offer programs in all counties!  Do you need assistance?  Call or send an email:
  2. Register at the “I’M READY!” link below.  Follow all instructions.
  3. You will be contacted with a date and time for your pre-test.  If you don’t hear back within a few days, or have questions, please contact your center directly.
  4. Test day – Bring valid official picture ID
    • Examples include a driver’s license, U.S. passport, Employment Authorization Card, Work Permit, Foreign passport with an I-94, Refugee/Asylum related visa. Other visas might be accepted with supporting documentation, such as an I-797-C with a biometrics appointment or certain B1/2 visas with qualifying documentation from USCIS.
    • NOT ACCEPTED: tourist visas, consular IDs, foreign passports without other types of valid documentation.
    • Note: If you have questions about documentation, contact the center.

Test day – allow 3 hours. Please call to cancel.  Please give as much advance notice as possible.  Do not cancel your appointment unless necessary.  It could delay your start time with us.

You will be called to come in to discuss your scores and learning plan, and will be enrolled into the next available class.
