What does the Accessibility Services Office Provide?

This office is responsible for ADA compliance and for providing services and advocacy for students with disabilities. It is the responsibility of the student to disclose information regarding a disability if services are needed. Appropriate medical documentation is required by this office to provide suitable and effective accommodations or auxiliary aids for individuals requesting services. The Office of Accessibility Services is then able to make recommendations, modifications, and referrals based on the nature of the disability and how it affects the student’s ability to learn or demonstrate competency in the course of study. Students may be referred to agencies outside the college to gain medical documentation for services. Once a referral is made, it is the responsibility of the student to complete the steps necessary to gain his/her documentation.
