Lanier Technical College Accessibility Services Procedure
Lanier Technical College is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to support individuals with disabilities in participating in the college’s programs and activities. These accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis, in consideration of each student’s specific medical documentation. Accommodations may be implemented to the extent that they do not compromise the integrity of an educational program, lower academic standards, or impose undue administrative burdens. To begin to establish eligibility for accommodations, students must register with the Office of Accessibility Services. The student is responsible for requesting services.
Documentation: Submit your medical documentation to adacoordinator@laniertech.edu. If you do not have current documentation (within three years), submit the documentation you do have, and Accessibility Services will guide you on the next steps.
Meeting: You will receive an automatic response to your submission which will allow you the opportunity to schedule an appointment for your Intake Meeting with the Accessibility Services Coordinator. If you do not receive the link, please email adacoordinator@laniertech.edu to request.
Notification: Completing the interactive process (Registration, Documentation, and Intake Meeting) to obtain accommodations will serve as consent to have your accommodations sent to your instructors each semester you participate and for which you are eligible.
Follow-Up:
Follow up with instructors once accommodations have been emailed to ensure implementation.
Provide supplemental medical documentation, if required, to ensure continuation of accommodations and/or services.
Contact Accessibility Services with any questions or concerns throughout the semester.
Email adacoordinator@laniertech.edu prior to the start of the term if you want to withhold notification of your accommodations for any given semester.
Telephone numbers are accessible to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing through the Georgia Relay by dialing 711 or 1-800-255-0056 from a TTY/TDD.
