LTC System Status

Information Technology supports the mission and goals of Lanier Technical College through Infrastructure design and deployment, cybersecurity operations, web design, technical support services, data collection and reporting, application development, research, strategic planning, and policy analysis. The unit’s responsibilities are managed by five units:

Enterprise Application Services

  • manages data collection for the agency’s technical colleges, adult education, and economic development programs;
  • provides a managed services practice for the operation of college student information systems;
  • designs and develops custom applications and other systems in support of the agency’s data needs; and
  • provides programming, database administration, and data warehousing services.

Infrastructure Services

  • designs and deploys network, data center, and cybersecurity solutions;
  • provides training and customer support for the agency’s statewide technology infrastructure;
  • manages the enterprise datacenter environment in support of the agency’s IT operations
  • supports the statewide cybersecurity training, governance, and risk assessment practice; and
  • provides backup and disaster recovery systems for statewide enterprise applications.

Technology Support Services

  • provides training, helpdesk services, and documentation for the agency’s statewide computer information systems;
  • gathers requirements, writes technical specifications and conducts user interface testing during the development of new systems; and
  • develops online reports and other system resources to help customers use the agency’s information systems effectively.

Research & Business Intelligence

  • manages the System Scorecard and fields data requests;
  • designs and develops online reports and dashboards to provide insight on institutional performance and student success;
  • provides training, documentation, and customer support on the KMS Reports Portal; and
  • provides ad hoc evaluation of data, programs and processes.

Web Services

  • manages the collection of web properties for LTC programs;
  • designs and develops custom web application solutions; and
  • provides training, documentation and customer support on web enabled applications.

Virtual Desktops


Virtual Desktops give you access to an on-campus LTC computer and are available to both students and employees. Are you an employee that needs access to the Intranet but do not have an LTC laptop? Do you need access to MS Office? Virtual Desktop gives you all of that.

You can access an LTC virtual desktop from any system with an internet connection. Chromebook? Yes. Mac? Yes. Windows computer? Yes. iPad/other tablet? Yes. (Note: tablets are more difficult to use with this system than standard computers).

How to get to a virtual desktop? Use Google Chrome or Firefox browser and visit: https://vdi.laniertech.edu. This is a fully encrypted secure connection. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are not supported.

Student Account Activation

All students are provided with a personalized LTC student email address. You will receive your email address and 8-digit password upon acceptance to the college, in the initial acceptance letter or email message from LTC.

Your LTC student email account is the College’s official means of communication. You should check your email on a regular basis.

In order to activate your LTC Student account, you must first change the default password from the one provided by the college. To assist you with this process, please visit our Help Center.

Laker Login Portal

Laker Login Portal is a single sign-on portal that, once you are logged in, will allow you to easily access the various applications and platforms that LTC provides for student use:

  • BannerWeb
  • Blackboard
  • eCampus
  • Student email via Outlook
  • and the full suite of Microsoft Office 365 apps, including useful programs such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive and more.

To launch Laker Login Portal, look for the Laker Login Portal link within the Quick Links menu at the top of any LTC web page.

WiFi

WiFi is available on all Lanier Technical College campuses. Lanier Tech’s preferred wireless network is LTC-Guest-Secure, which is available throughout our campuses in classrooms, halls, offices, greenspaces, and conference center buildings.
